Eric started working for West Coast in the mid-1970s, doing summer internships in such fields as maintenance engineering, electrics, plumbing, carpet-laying and painting. He started work as a full-time Property Manager in 1983 after earning his Bachelor of Arts Degree at San Francisco State University.
 Eric has owned West Coast since 1993, after buying the business from his father, and has continued to carry on a family tradition of excellence in Property Management. Eric has earned the distinguished Certified Property Manager (CPM) designation and is a licensed California Real Estate Broker and a licensed General Contractor.
Eric was thePresident of the California Apartment Association in 2006, leading that Association's more than 18,000 members and representing them all over the State and across the nation. Eric has served as the Chair of CAA's Executive Board, and as Chair of CAA's Strategic Planning, Government Affairs, Political Action, Budget and Finance,Ethics, and Forms Committees. Eric has been on the Boards of the San Francisco Taxpayer’s Association, the Coalition for Better Housing, the Housing Industry Policy Council and many other industry and local organizations.
Eric is also a Past-President of the San Francisco Apartment Association, where he served for three years and is still an active member of the Board of Directors; and the Professional Property Management Association, where he served as President for six year. Eric is one of the authors of the original Residential Tenancy Agreement, currenlty San Francisco's standard residential lease form with more than 30,000 copies in print. Eric helped write a similar lease form for use in Oakland, as well.
Eric was born in San Francisco and was raised on the Peninsula. He now lives in the East Bay with his wife and their three busy children. Eric enjoys being active in his church, and can regularly be found serving on various school committees, fulfilling his role on the Board of the local education foundation, or fulfilling his duties as the Committee Chairman of his son’s Boy Scout Troop.
